Dr. Del Conte co-founded Daybreak Treatment Center, the nations first free standing  partial hospital program for children and adolescents to be certified by the Linehan Board of  Certification.  

He has post-doctoral training in Structural Family Therapy with Salvador Minuchin, Dialectical Behavior Therapy with Marsha Linehan and Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy with Thomas Lynch.  He is certified in prolonged exposure and is a member of the inaugural class of Linehan Board Certified DBT Clinicians. He was a member of the Empty Cloud Sanga led by Marsha Linehan, Roshi. 

In 2014 Dr. Del Conte  was awarded the CORE Visibility award for outcome research and in 2016 received the Best Practices Award by the American Counseling Association. 

He coordinated  the practitioner research committee for Radically Open DBT and was a member of the communications committee for the Linehan Board of Certification. He has several peer reviewed research papers and was  contributing author to the recently published text, Dialectical Behavior Therapy with Adolescents: Settings, Treatments and Diagnoses. 

Dr. Del Conte is Clinical DIrector Emeritus at Daybreak Treatment Center.  He presents workshops for practitioners in DBT and serves on the teaching faculty in the graduate school at the University of Memphis, Department of Psychology.
